Friday...Service Day

OK this Friday was Service Day again!

Providing you were not late, did not miss a day the prior week & have all of your work done (grade point average), you can receive a FREE service.

Services can include a Hair Cut, Hair Style, Nail Polish, Hair Color and so on. It's a time when other students will have the opportunity & honor of working on their fellow students. We usually find someone of our choosing to do our service. It's fun and gives students communicate and share ideas.
This week I was surprised that JamesD asked me to cut his hair. I have done men's cuts before but what was unusual about his cut was he wears a Mohawk! I have not done this type of cut before, but it can't be that bad or can it?  Besides our school does not get too many request for this style. Perhaps, some marketing or advertising at local high schools can be done?

So... James sports a Mohawk that has blonde running down the hawk. His requested cut will eliminate the blonde in the hair and take him back to his original hair color. The blonde streak is all I have known since I started school. So this will be a change. And after instructions from him I plugged the clippers in and this is what the finished cut looked like. And no hair cut was necessary. I have learned that when cutting this style you have to go back and forth on the sides in order to get all of the stray hairs. I used a number 2 guard on the sides and a number 6 on the top. I edged the hairline and beard. The next day he shaved off the mustache.  Personally, I like the change in his style.

It was a fun cut and I'm looking forward to plugging in the clippers for another Mohawk.
